Answers:

  1. Is this distance learning degree any different from the one that is earned on campus at Boston University?
No. You will receive the same Master of Science in International Marketing Management degree, and your diploma is the same as the students’ on-campus diplomas.

  2. How is this program accredited?
The New England Association of Schools and Colleges accredits Boston University, which is the highest and most widely- recognized form of accreditation for degree granting programs. State agencies and reputable academic institutions only recognize degrees from regionally accredited institutions when considering someone for employment, a teaching position, or further academic study (including transfer of course credit). These programs also meet the tuition reimbursement standards
    of most agencies.

  3. How long is the program?
The program is completed in approximately 24 months. There are 6 semesters with each semester lasting approximately 15 weeks.

  4. How many credits and courses do I take each semester?
You will enroll in two four- credit hour courses each semester
for a total of eight credits each semester.

  5. Are there any prerequisites that I must take?
Please review the "Course Descriptions" section for mandatory prerequisite courses or call an Admissions Representative at 1.866.232.0232 Ext. 3120 (US and Canada) or +1.647.722.6642 Ext. 3120 (International) for more information.

Prior to taking MET AD 630, basic math knowledge must be demonstrated by the completion of the mandatory prerequisite course called ALEKS©. ALEKS© is a self-paced tutorial that is designed to ensure that you are well-prepared for this course.

  6. How much does the program cost?
Please contact your Admissions Representative for the most current information. This is a great investment when you consider that the program will allow you to realize career-advancing opportunities while you continue working.

  7. When do I start the program?
You may enter the program three times per year during any semester— fall, spring, or summer.

  8. How much time is required in this program?
This program is designed for the working professional who must keep up with the demands of work and home. Most students require 15-20 hours of study per week. Your instructor will help keep you on track. Students also find their small group is a tremendous source of support.

  9. Who do I talk to if I have more questions or if I want to apply?
You may call an Admissions Representative at
    1.866.232.0232 Ext. 3120.

  10. Do I need to maintain a certain GPA?
No grade lower than B– may be used toward degree, certificate, or diploma requirements. Students below a 3.0 cumulative GPA are placed in academic probation status. After being placed on probation, students must make satisfactory progress toward achieving a minimum of 3.0 the following semester and be in a position to graduate with a 3.0 or better within the remaining program courses. Students who, in the determination of the department and based on past performance, are not in a position to raise their GPA to the level required to graduate within the remaining courses will be terminated from the program. Students who have not removed themselves from academic probation status after one semester for full-time status or three courses for part-time status will be terminated from the program.
